The Green Valley AVA is located in the southwestern part of the Russian River Valley, bounded by the towns of Sebastopol, Forestville and Occidental. The area is known for its foggy climate and well-drained soil, which makes the wines throughout the AVA unusually cohesive and distinct–in other words, a worthwhile tasting experience, to be sure.
With many small scale operations, Cloverdale is a gem for both wine nerds and casual drinkers. Those desiring a better understanding of how grapes turn to wine can drink up quite an education, while the rest can just drink some of the best wines in the country.

Spend a day meandering through this beautiful coastal region to try Fort Ross wines, or visit a nearby region to taste wines made from grapes grown in Fort Ross.
