What began as a small local festival in 2007 has grown into an internationally recognized event, receiving hundreds of submissions from more than 60 countries each year. SDFF is an Oscar®-qualifying festival for short and mini-form documentaries, reflecting its commitment to excellence and impact. SDFF offers a dynamic, thought-provoking film festival experience that celebrates the power of documentary cinema to inform, challenge, and inspire.
