April is Sonoma County Wine Month

By WineCountry Collective March 29, 2022

While you can find Sonoma County wine in our glass on a regular basis, April is a great time to drink the wines of this world-class region. Why this month in particular, you may wonder? Well, April is Sonoma County Wine Month, which makes it the perfect excuse to celebrate all things Sonoma County wine.

With more than 400 wineries producing wines from 60+ grape varieties in 18 designated AVAs, Sonoma County is a wine region for those who want options (and for those who want it all!). Sonoma County’s varied climatic and geographical conditions allow for a wide range of grapes to be grown – from cabernet sauvignon to zinfandel, chardonnay to pinot noir, pinot gris to petit sirah, and more – and the resulting wines are stylistically just as diverse. Simply put: there’s a varietal and a style for every type of palate.

Not only that, but Sonoma Wine Country truly has something for everyone, making it an amazing place to visit. Here, you’ll find wineries offering vineyard hikes, wine and food pairings, educational experiences, outdoor picnics, and Bocce ball; lodging options that range between luxury resorts and secluded inns to boutique hotels and quaint B&Bs; acclaimed restaurants that are dedicated to sourcing as locally and seasonally as possible; and activities that run the gamut from the adventurous (zip lining and hot air ballooning) to the leisurely (spa treatments and golf).
