While the name Sonoma County conjures up images of wineries and vineyards, the region has more to offer its visitors, especially during the fall months. This November, tour the countryside, drink some wine, channel your inner engineer and maybe even see a giraffe or two.

The Wine Road event is the premier tasting and eating experience, showcasing almost 100 wineries throughout Dry Creek, Russian River and Alexander Valleys. All of the wineries participating will have a signature recipe prepared upon which to nibble with their favorite pairing from the winery. All ticket holders will receive a complimentary tasting glass, make sure not to lose it. This is the perfect way to enjoy and discover the best wines in Sonoma County.

Even for veteran wine travelers already well acquainted with California wine country, Wine Road is likely to be uncharted territory, sure to imbue a fresh sense of discovery. Along the way are some of California’s oldest wineries, run by vintners whose commitment to tending the vines and producing world-class wines, true to the appellation, runs back generations. They’re excited to welcome you into their wineries for the annual event.

Insider’s Tip: There’s an app for that! Eventbrite, the company handling the tickets for the event, has an app that will hold your ticket on your phone, with all event information, as well as the winery that you chose to start at. Make sure to download it ahead of time and save a few trees.

Join the winemakers at Matanzas Creek Winery as they host their annual Journey Winemaker Dinner, celebrating the release of the new Journey Sauvignon Blanc, Journey Chardonnay, and Journey Red. This intimate evening is the perfect integration of wine and food, flavors and textures against the lush backdrop of the Bennett Valley. The evening begins with a reception featuring a Journey wine “progression” accompanied by exquisite hors d’oeuvres, followed by a mouthwatering 4-course meal expertly paired with our Journey wines, including a special library vintage. Tickets to this event are limited, so get yours while you can!

Insider Tip: Go early to enjoy the famous Matanzas Lavender Fields and Market. While the lavender isn’t blooming, the market stocks incredible items for your bath, body or home.
