Jack London State Historic Park will present “Rick Oginz: Wolf House Ruins, Mixed Media Series” at the House of Happy Walls Museum from March 1-31 at 10 am – 5 pm. This collection of 10 paintings offers unique perspectives on the ruins of Wolf House, Jack London’s grand estate that was lost to fire in 1913. Through varied angles, scales, and compositions, Oginz’s work explores the complex relationship between humanity and nature, reflecting on themes central to London’s writing.

An internationally recognized artist and instructor, Oginz was deeply moved by the Wolf House ruins after visiting the park in 2020. Inspired by their mystery, beauty, and symbolism, he created this series as a tribute to London’s vision and the struggle between the wild and the civilized. Now based in Sonoma, Oginz has exhibited widely, with a career dedicated to capturing iconic landmarks. Admission to the exhibit is included with the park’s fee.
