The Bay View Restaurant at the Inn at the Tides welcomes Villa Italia’s proprietor Lorenzo Scarpone to the upcoming Winemaker Dinner on October 21, 2018. Passionate about food and wine, Lorenzo established Villa Italia in 1989, importing fine artisan-made wines from the largest wine-producing country in the world, Italy.
For this dinner, Lorenzo Scarpone of Villa Italia guides us to the finest quality Italian cuisine and wine. Chilled seafood salad paired with Pinot Grigio begins. Next, a delicate Duck Egg Carbonara paired with Lorenzo’s own Scarpone Tribute “Colline Teramane,” Montepulciano D’Abruzzo. This wine is a tribute to Lorenzo’s father Vincenzo, the Scarpone family’s dream for generations. The main course Roasted Tagliata, is served with Garesio “Serralunga D’Alba” Barolo and Casa Alle Vacche “I Macchioni” Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
