“Save Kelp, Eat Urchin!” is a sunrise coastal foraging experience focused on hands-on sea urchin harvesting as part of an effort to help restore balance to overgrown coastal ecosystems. Participants join a guided class to learn how to responsibly forage sea urchin, understand its ecological impact on kelp forests, and safely open and enjoy this delicacy known as “uni” in sushi but especially fresh from the source. Guests will also learn how human intervention can support climate-impacted marine environments.

Each participant may take home up to 35 sea urchins (as much as they can carry). The experience blends education, sustainability, and culinary exploration in a unique outdoor setting. Hosted by Fork In The Path, the program offers transformational foraging adventures in California for curious, nature-minded participants of all ages.
