Opening reception for three Sonoma County artists, Nancy H Dempster, Dayana Leon, and Michael Dirk Risch, whose artwork shares the element of risk-taking and adventure. This show bridges representational and abstract/non-objective painting, political and academic work, and the inner and outer worlds of experience. Leon’s work offers a socio-political narrative, whereas Dempster and Risch are working in a more intuitive experimental manner. Aside from different aesthetic and creative pursuits, these three have in common inventive and refined results. Reception is part of SOFA Arts District’s First Friday, with many other galleries and studios open to visitors. Gallery open Saturdays and Sundays in April, 11am-2pm.
