Gather at the River: Songs of Water & Ice comes to the Church of the Incarnation, celebrating winter through music inspired by rain, snow, rivers, and oceans. This December program from Sacred and Profane explores the season’s many moods—quiet, playful, powerful, and reflective.
The concert features beloved works by Brahms, Stanford, Poulenc, Britten, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, showcasing the beauty and depth of choral tradition. You’ll also experience contemporary pieces by Judith Bingham and Swedish composer Staffan Storm, blending modern textures with timeless themes of nature and renewal. The program is rounded out with an uplifting spiritual arranged by Stacey Gibbs, along with folk and pop selections by The Real Group and Evert Taube.
Together, these pieces create a musical journey through winter’s water-shaped world—inviting audiences to listen, breathe, and gather in the shared beauty of song.
