Join Dr. Kayleen Asbo, celebrated music historian for the Santa Rosa Symphony for eight weeks of lecture-performances into the evolution of Classical Music, in a series that will bring to new depth and insight to the upcoming season at Weill Hall.

Session I: The History of the Concerto
Oct. 9: From Baroque Beginnings to Mozart’s Masterpieces
Oct. 16: Beethoven’s Revolution
Oct. 23: The Romantic Virtuosos: Schumann, Grieg, Liszt and Tchaikovsky
Oct. 30: The Contemporary Concerto: From Prokoviev & Ravel to Arvo Part’s Credo

Session II: History of the Symphony
Nov. 6: From Concerto Grosso to Haydn & Mozart
Nov. 13: Beethoven and His Legacy
Nov. 20: From Mendelssohn to Mahler
Nov. 27: New World, from Dvorak to Leonard Bernstein

Mondays, Oct. 9 – 30 and Nov. 6 – 26. $100 for each series, $30/single lecture
