Winterblast! – Santa Rosa, CA 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Visit the Santa Rosa Arts District on Saturday, November 14th for the 11th annual Winterblast! Come experience live music while you savor local foods, wines, and craft beers. Whether you are searching for that perfect new painting for your home or just interested in seeing the latest from nearby California artists, you will find endless art offerings at the festival. Stick around for the infamous SOFA parade to see dozens of couches and recliners decorated with festive garlands, bright strings of lights, and various wacky holiday nic-nacs.

Free for children, $10 for adults

Your inner artist will love attending this holiday event at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art. Even beginners can learn how to get creative during this full day of holiday crafts and decorations that is fun for the entire family. Local artists teach children and adults of all ages a variety of holiday crafting arts during the event.

Petaluma Holiday Craft Fair – Petaluma, CA

Love getting unique gifts for your friends and family that you can’t find anywhere else? Make a trip to the annual Petaluma Holiday Craft Fair to discover one-of-a-kind crafts from local artists and vendors. This event provides live entertainment and music for visitors, along with holiday photos for the kids with Santa. Eat delicious food from Petaluma vendors and qualify to win tons of exciting prizes at this holiday fair.

Holidays in Carneros – Carneros, CA
11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; $50 per person, VIP tickets $125 per person

Get into the holiday season a little early at four wineries in the Carneros area. Held the weekend before Thanksgiving, these wineries offer wine and food pairings along with tastings straight from the barrels. Meet the winemakers that craft these world-renowned vinos to discuss the process behind their wines. A limited number of VIP tickets include bus rides to tour the vineyards, a customized wine box, reserve wine tastings paired with chocolates, and wine and food pairings with a surprise guest chef.

VML Winery’s Holiday Marketplace – Healdsburg, CA

Join VML Winery in Healdsburg for sweet baked goods, locally made olive oils, and wines produced at the vineyards. Get something for everyone on your list at the holiday marketplace where you can find handcrafted artisan goods, apparel, and artwork. This is also a great event for jewelry lovers! Last year’s event showcased the latest Stella and Dot jewelry for purchase on-site.

Gualala Arts Festival of Trees – Gualala, CA
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday; Free

Celebrate the season at the Festival of Trees in Gualala with live music, handmade crafts, and plenty of activities for the whole family. Do you consider yourself an expert craftsman? Participate in the festival’s Gingerbread House contest! Santa and Mrs. Claus attend the festival (by way of the reindeer and the sleigh of course) both days, taking pictures and visiting with the children. The Grinch even makes an appearance at the festival to greet those that have been more naughty than nice.

Sonoma Valley Holiday Open House – Sonoma, CA

Taste award-winning wines while you shop for holiday gifts for friends and family during the Sonoma Valley Open House. Comprised of 18 Sonoma vineyards, this holiday event lets you mingle with the winemakers and tour the wine cellars of some of the most prestigious vineyards in California.

Le Cirque de Bohème – Sonoma, CA

Bring the family to witness an amazing winter show reminiscent of 1920’s French circuses. This year’s event is titled “Stolen Moonlight” and will amaze guests with talented performances from a contortionist, unicyclist, juggler, and aerial artists. This holiday show is sure to impress and delight children and adults of every age.

Windsor Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting Ceremony – Windsor, CA
3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; Free

Take a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride during the Windsor Holiday Celebration while the kids ride on the Windsor Polar Express. Holiday music fills the air during a live concert put on by Windsor schoolchildren. The festival has craft workshops for children and cookie decorating classes that let you be creative while sampling some tasty holiday treats. Get photos with Santa, then see the Windsor town square lighting of the holiday tree. Children can even write and mail letters to Santa that will receive individual responses!

December 5, 2015

Holiday Lighted Boat Parade – Petaluma, CA
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.; Free

Get in the holiday spirit as you watch this annual parade of decorated, brightly lit boats right off of historic downtown Petaluma. The shops in the area also participate by stringing up lights and holiday decor, and they even stay open later so you can get your holiday shopping done.

December 6, 2015

Lighting of the Snowmen Festival – Sonoma, CA
3:00 p.m.; Free

Come see hundreds of snowmen line the Sonoma streets all lit simultaneously. This beautiful holiday event features live music and dance performances. The festival hosts holiday craft booths, including a lesson on decorating your own gingerbread men. Santa will be in attendance to take pictures with kids, while adults can enjoy the authentic German Beer Garden. Whether traveling alone or with the entire family, wine lovers can find plenty of seasonal activities in Sonoma County.
